The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency this week warned that New Jersey officials could be headed for a conflict with the Clean Water Act

TRENTON — Legislation to delay new limits on sewer service areas appears to be gathering momentum for passage in the Statehouse despite a fight by environmental groups to save the plan that would fence off some 300,000 acres from intensive development.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which has pushed for the new sewer plans to be adopted, weighed in with a letter late this week warning that New Jersey officials could be headed for a conflict with the Clean Water Act.
