For the first time in several weeks, rain could threaten outdoor plans at the Jersey Shore.

The National Weather Service says there's a chance for thunderstorms after 4 p.m. today. The high temperature in the Belmar area should reach the low 80s.

Rain is a strong possibility for Saturday night, Sunday and Sunday night, with thunderstorms possible at time.

The high on Sunday is expected to reach the mid-80s, and evening temperatures on both days will fall to the mid-70s under cloudy skies.

Traffic outlook

With one major exception, all road projects along the Shore are on hold for the weekend.
